UPDATE / COORDINATING 2007 RALLY CANCELLATIONS

If you have to cancel your reservation, post the site number and dates before calling the park. That will give an opportunity for other members who haven't gotten a space yet to coordinate with you and the park. Apparently when a cancellation is made that space becomes available for the next reservation coming in regardless of who they are.

I spoke with the reservation department today, 2/6/07 and they suggested the following:

If you want a site that someone else is canceling, contact that person and make arrangements for them to first call the park and upon cancellation mentioning your name as the person requesting the site. They will expect to hear from the new person requesting the site the same day for payment arrangements, or it will be released. You should also give the size and number of slides to make sure you'll fit! Also please let Margee or I know of the changes.

Although the facility is closed until April 1st, they are taking reservations now.

Call for Reservations or Information @ 530-926-2618
TOLL FREE - United States, outside 530 area code - 1-888-926-2618, 8 to 5 PST

Don, you are always full of.............. good ideas.

How's your weather? It's been 105 to 112 for the last 8 days here. Supposed to cool down to 102 tomorrow.

Well, it looks like if we want to attend the National Spring Rally, we won't be able to come to Lake Siskiyou Rally. Poo! We currently have Reservations in site # 309 with check in date of May 24th 07' and check out date of May 29th 07'.

I have not yet canceled this reservation and I'm not real sure of how to proceed from here if someone else wants it, so Don, you'll have to give me some direction as to what to do from here, if someone contacts us about it?

Joy,

Sorry to hear you have to cancel the Lake Siskiyou event, but know you'll enjoy the National Spring Rally. Wish we could make it down there but it's lousy timing for us this year.

Now, I would think that if someone else wants your site at Siskiyou a coordinated effort could be made once they notify you they'd like the spot. I'm sure once you cancel, the site will be assigned to the next person requesting a reservation of that type. So, perhaps if someone interested contacts you first, you can give their name to the reservation attendant and the interested party can call in about the same time? Worth a shot I think.

Oh man, MelnJoy, you are one of the six 3575RLs that I have been able to identify on this site. Was looking forward to meeting you. In fact, I believe you also hail from WA like I do. Oh well, have a good day!

Don, thanks for the info. I haven't heard from anyone yet, but I haven't been on the forum since Aug 31st or so. I'll wait a bit longer before actually canceling, just in case.

Mike,

Yes, we know! We were hoping to meet up with you folks too! And yes again, we are originally from Marysville, WA. Our time in Washington now is limited to the summers to visit with family. We are headed back to AZ in about 1 1/2 weeks. (before the rain really hits WA. state). We will be at the spring rally in CA., are you going to attend that event? Well, I'm sure we will see you somewhere on the road. Take Care

Plese fix your posting of the weather thingy. It is causing a scroll for folks to read the entire message. Thank you. RVWheels, MOC Admin. [img]http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetempbig/language/www/US/WA/Marysville.gif" border=0

I notice there are several people in the 200 section. Surely one of them would like Mel and Joy's spot, although I suggest this with tears as they will be missed big time. Maybe if you emailed them, they will want to change.

Seaarchers: Don; We made reservations earlier at Buellton. After making our reservations in Florida, I see that we won't have enough time to spend at the house to get everything done that needs doing and still make Buellton. We are cancelling it but we are comming to Siskiyou. Dave Anderson is here at the Rally with us and he's cancelled his reservation on site # 342. We now have it. We will be there from the 24th 'til the 29th. We hope that's agreeable with everyone.

Bob, sure it's agreeable and we look forward to seeing you and Jeanne again. Sorry to hear Dave and Kelly had to cancel though. You'll just have to pick up the slack during story time around the campfire!

We have had a change in our plans, and will not be able to make Lake Siskiyou. We have not yet cancelled our reservations, in case anyone else may be interested. We have spot 333 from May 24th to 30th.
Hope to meet everyone at another rally.

Looks like we'll have to cancel this year. The facility I work at is closing in July so managment is only allowing us to pick one, one week vacation this spring/summer so they can accommodate house hunting trips and other people's vacations. I thing we had site #352. I'll hold on to it till someone says they want it.

Thanks Dennis, things are fine. I've been double dipping since 10/05. Lockheed/Martin has offered me a paid move and a fairly large bonus to move to Prescott for a year. We may take them up on it so we could upgrade to a 2008 or 2009 3400RL and a new TV before I pull the plug for good. Also gives us a chance to scout out retirement property in AZ. and NM. We'll see you and Mary Kay in Quartzite in Jan.

Dennis,
Prescott is such a neat place. I think you will love it. It is one of our favorite places. Only lived there for about 4 months but loved it. See you in Q.

I've been asked to trade spots with someone that already has reservations. How do we swap without losing their space?

Dennis & Leona,

Sorry to hear you have to cancel, but hope to see you again sometime. As far as swapping reservations I can only suggest contacting the campground for information on coordinating the move.

Hi Don,

We have to cancel this year as we bought a home in Missouri to be close to the grandchildren. It is in the build stage and is susposed to be completed on 5/28 and we have to close escrow.

We have site 344 from 5/23 to 5/30. I have not canceled yet. If anyone wants this site I will wait until May 1st to cancel so that someone has a chance to get it.

Sorry to miss all the fun and new friends we had met last year.

Paul and LouAnne,

Sounds like exciting times are ahead in the MO area and understand the situation, but we will mss you at the rally. Thanks for the heads up on the site too. Hopefully someone else may step up that would like it.

Thanks Don for the update on swapping sites! I will contact Sweetfire and work out the details. For now I will keep both sites until we know for sure the extra one won't be needed.
