George you are only on post #4. I did not realize you were so new to the MOC! I am glad we did not scare you off at the rally and that you will be returning next year.

Wow... we have this many sign-ups this early. Smart thing to do as the 300 section of the campground fills up early
The list was updated today and if we have forgotten anyone or don't have their information correct, just let us know here and we'll get it changed.
SweetFire... I've been thinking about your comment that you "are within crawling distance of the clubhouse". Hmmmm... do we have to get you a designated walker back to your Montana after dinner?..*grin
Such a great time at dinner. I know we wouldn't miss the rally next year. In fact, I am applying for different jobs right now that will be more flexible in giving me time off just so we can attend more days of the rally.
We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather as indicated by the awesome photos Steve Reigle took on his airplane flight of Mt. Shasta and the surrounding area.
Good times, good food, good people. What more could we have asked for?
Thank you to everyone who attended the 2006 Spring Rally.

Well we have thrown our hats in the ring. Put imp & trebor down for site 306 from May 23 to 30th. It was difficult getting ahold of them to make a reservation. It took us 4 days with many disconnects. Best advise is to call early in the day.

We are new to the MOC site and find it to be very imformative. We plan to attend the spring 2007 rally at Lake Siskiyou from May 25-28. Please add us to your list to attend. We were unable to get into the 300 section because there were no more sites available that would accommodate the size of our Montana 3400. We will be in site 278.
We have been full timers for 2 years and loving it. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Harold & Donna,
First, welcome to the MOC forum and we're glad to hear you'll be joining us at the 2007 rally.
I wanted to let you know that another member was assigned site #278 for the 2006 rally and found it difficult to get their rig into. They were able to swap for a site in the 300 section upon their arrival, but that may not be the case in 2007. I suggest you check back with reservations and try to get moved into the 300 section asap or if a cancellation occurs. If possible try to talk with Kaye and make sure to tell them you're with the Montana group.

Thank you for your much appreciated response. Do you know why site 278 was hard to get into? Trees in way or what? Do you know who the member was that had the problem?

Harold & Donna,
The members that were assigned that site earlier this year were Virgil & Karen Lee. Their MOC user name is Sunshine, and I'm sure they'll will respond to your question when they are available.
I can tell you that the 200 numbered sites are some distance from the 300 numbered sites. Another factor may be that whoever took your reservation initially is not familiar with the individual sites.

Is the western rally always held around the same time? Is it ever held at different locations?

"Always" may not be the best word here. The first rally was in 2005. So the 2007 will be only the 3rd. We all like the campground, the area, the hosts, etc. so we voted to do it again.
Join us - you won't regret it!

Mike, you didn't ask, but here's a little history on how the Western Rally got started.
In late 2004 I contacted Toolmanroy and DandMontheRoad about getting together and meeting each other for the first time over Memorial Day Weekend 2005. We decided to post it on the forum in case anyone else was interested. That holiday weekend was chosen because those folks are still working and/or have their own businesses they can't get away from for more than three days. I believe we ended up with about 17 rigs that first year. Everyone enjoyed it and decided to meet again at the same time and place in 2006. In October of 2005 we were asked by MOC administration if the 2006 event could be billed as a Spring National Rally, which it was. We had 32 rigs this year and about 18 of those have made reservations for the same weekend in 2007.
So, what started out to be a laid back weekend with a few folks seems to have grown into an annual event that's a lot of fun, but it's not intended that it be the only MOC Rally in the west. In fact the 2007 Spring National will be in southern CA.
I guess we'll keep gathering here until folks get tired of the place, but it would be nice to see someone come up with other locations and times for campouts in the western area.
Give us a shout on your way through sometime and please consider joing us in May 2007.
Don

I must have read the dates wrong. I thought I read April 13-17 and since I prepare, for free, pastor's tax returns, those dates just don't work for me. The area is great. I was in Yreka over July 4th and the country through that region is cool....actually it was over 100 degrees while I was there. It was great to be able to park under a huge tree, that along with my two acs and I had no problems.

Mike, April 13 thru April 17 are the dates for the 2007 Spring National Rally at Flying Flags RV Park and Resort in Buelleton, California.
