New 3400RL Antenna Problem
We finally picked up our new 3400RL Tuesday evening, took it home (150 miles away). Yesterday, for some odd reason I decided to go on the roof and look around.
Found that the TV antenna had rubbed a hole in the rubber roof. There are no stop blocks mounted for the antenna to rest on. Has anyone else had this problem?? Now I have to come up with a solution to that and will e-mail the factory.

Congraulation on your new unit. Sorry to hear about the hole, that should not have happen on a new unit. I know some have put rubber along the end of the wing to prevent that from happening long term. Is that where your damage was done?

I was up on my Monty yesterday and noted that the antenna was in contact with the rubber roof at one end of the metal antenna. I slightly bent the antenna element up a bit to eliminate the contact spot. The underside of the most vertical part of the antenna has a plastic housing that does have some 'feet' that rest on the roof. Hope I didn't get a hole yet.

I am going to put some "rub" blocks under the ends of the antenna. The feet in the center of the antenna touch BUT the ends do also. My old unit had rub blocks, don't know why this one doesn't.

I ran into this same problem a while back I wrote a post on this problem I was lucky mine didn't rub a hole in the roof just left a mark I cut some plastic hose down the middlde and glued it to the wings then cut a small block to let the antenna rest on glued it to the base of the antenna that fixed the problem for good I worry about the wings of the antenna flopping around that why I glued the plastic hose to them good luck with yours hope this helps a little

Jim - I would document the problem, with digital camera picture's - for future reference. Now I have noticed that mine has hard plastic buttons on the contact points, however after traveling several of our GREAT CONCRETE highways I am concerned that the little buttons are going to wear. When I installed the second AC -It gave me the opportunity to view the rubber roof IT'S VERY THIN I don't believe that it will take very much rubbing to wear through.
