Scratches on outside of RV

Hi folks. I was doing some upgrade work for my refrigerator, adding a fan up top and using spray foam insulation to fill some gaps.

Well some of the spray foam got on the outside of the RV but I didn’t see it until the next morning, when it was already fully cured.

So, stupidly, I took a kitchen sponge that had one of those green abrasive sides and some cleaning fluid, and rubbed the outside panel to get it off.

Well I was able to get it off but now I have a lot of swirl scratches on the panel. If it were a car paint job I would use some compound to get out the scratches but I’m not so sure that would work on a Montana side panel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It doesn’t look horrible but when the sunlight hits that area it doesn’t look very good.

Don't know if you have full body paint or not, compound might not be good. I would just buff with an orbital and good wax and call it a day

As said abobe, buff, wax and forget. I would use a very fine compound,, ii.e 1500 as it wont leave other scratches. You will probably need to go to an auto paint supplier tho NAPA should have some. The unfortunate thing with doing that is you may need to do the entire panel or side as the buffed area will be 'cleaner'.

I cannot attest to the validity of this video, but remembered watching this about getting scratches out of the sidewalls of RV's. Might help in your case.
