I am working at Disney 5 days at the moment. I have no problem picking up extra hours - as do Helen (Richfaa) and Jim (JimnJulie) and Jim (Boylanag).

I have a Excel spreadsheet that I constantly calc the ave diesel/gas prices on our route. It keeps increasing so I keep picking up extra hours. Cheryl is starting to complain that I am gone all the time and we are not able to do anything together - I can get carried away with focusing on making money. I promised her I would start cutting back. Money is not everything.

Our situation is that we are going to drive our car back up behind our Montana to Mich so we don't use our pickup (diesel) all summer for a daily driver. We will spend $190 in gasoline at todays prices just for this on our trip budget. Wonder how crowded the Walmart parking lots will be this summer???

Another problem I see happening is that the as the price of oil rises, refiners are making less profit and therefore cutting refining production. This obviously is a grave concern to me. Truckers are not able to pass their costs on in most areas as cutthroat trucking is not allowing them to do so. While the cost of groceries is rising, it is not keeping up with the cost of diesel.

Not sure where all this is going to lead. Maybe we start negotiating monthly rates with our campgrounds? We will seriously beginning looking at land to put our Montana on in N. MI when we get up there.

From what I have seen in our travels, the price of Diesel is cheaper in So. Carolina that any place else. Don't know what happened to Georgia. On our trip to Ma. his summer, the cost of fuel will be about as much as we make. Take out taxes and the trip is going to cost us. We have decided this will the the last trip to the NE. Sure am going to miss it. Have a Good Day

Maybe not as much as NE (and all the other major tourist areas and National Parks in the US) will miss us, Richard. This summer could be a disaster for many areas. Of course this is just what our economy needs right now.

We just returned from Branson, MO and here's what we experienced. Started the trip at 399.9, next fill up in central Illinois 405.9 which is the most we paid from 3/20 - 3/28. Branson prices were 385.9 in town and 379.9 north on US 65. Today we topped off at the same station that charged us 405.9 for only 395.9 (LOL). By the time we got home prices were 405.9 which is 6 cents more than when we left.

I just filled up in Windsor @ $1.19.9 a litre. and payed $125.00. First fill up since coming home from Fla Mar 7th. That comes to $5.40 an Imperial gallon (120x4.5L) or U.S. (120x3.8L)$4.56/gal. It hurts but probably never give up campin, just shorter trips after April 11th trip to Key West. One big trip a year isn`t too bad hopefully the truckers protest about the price of diesel will help bring it down a bit.

If you are close to Mexico, you can fill up for $2.10 a gallon in US dollars. We are going down to Rocky Point and plan to fill up at the border town before we come back into the United States - we get the diesel at Sonoyta at the Circle K. We fill up the truck and 2 diesel tanks, a total of 250 gallons. Wish we could pay this in Arizona..........diesel here is $4.00 a gallon.

We were told by our relatives in N. MI that when we get up there we are looking at 4.19-4.24/gal for diesel (currently). MI state taxes on fuel are very heavy.

Filled up yesterday in Chattanooga TN for 3.799/gal for a total of $102.00. Geeezzze, I can remember gasoline at .25/gal and diesel was less than that.

I'm having trouble with the concept of diesel being more expensive than premium unleaded gasoline. After all, it's not much more than crude oil with the big chunks strained out!

Here's your Northern Illinois update. 396.9-411.9. This is the first time I've seen it under $4 for 3 weeks.

Well, $4.42 in Seward, Alaska. We are more expensive than Anchorage so plan accordingly if you are planning an Alaska trip this year. EHMCFARL, If I could only fill up for $102.00! I just pump until the machine stops at $100.00 I can almost hit full in the tank - if I fill while I still have at least 1/4 tank left.

Mexico ah yes!! 45.3 cents a litre when we were in Cabo San Lucas in November. Worked out to $2.05 a US gallon. Does that make sense when We have so much oil in Can/US, makes ya kind of feel like we are getting ripped!!! Ya think???
