Charge TV batteries
If TV is left plugged into RV and RV is connected to shore power will TV batteries receive any charge? I would like to use my 2016 GMC Duramax’s hotspot for WiFi.

Good ? but I don't think so. If you have a good battery bank in the monty you should be good for quite a while on your campers batteries alone. I assume you are boondocking ? How do you charge your batteries while doing so ?

No, not boondocking. We’re at at State Park with 30 amp service. There is no WiFi so I was wanting to use the hotspot in my TV which requires leaving the key in the accessory position, which will drain the batteries (Duramax has two). So...will TV batteries receive any charge from the RV chargeing system?

I had my truck hooked up in front of house overnight with 20amp shore power to keep fridge running when we came out to start the truck next morning the batteries we dead had to put booster on the truck to get it started.

Guess you could put a trickle charger on the truck. I do that on my boat, and the car when it is in storage.

Not sure if there is a blocking diode or not. Best way to test is is take some measurements with a clamp on
amp probe

I have to say there must be a pathway if the potential in the RV is high enough. This is why we that use lithium batteries have to use a battery isolator so the lithium will not drain into the TV when the ignition is off and the TV is connected to the 5er.

A couple few hours on accessory probably will not kill the batteries. You will probably have to reset it every 20 min anyway. I think the truck will think you just left it on mistakenly ?.?

With GMs the 12V Charge line is active all the time, so it you leave the RV Pig Tail plugged into the TV it will put some charge into the TV batteries.

Why not just move the hotspot into the trailer and plug it in there? We have our hotspot mounted to a wall in the big slide between the sofa and table, plugged into the AC outlet.

The GMC "hotspot" is integrated into the dash of the truck (along with the On-Star access). Moving it inside, much less hanging it on a wall, is going to be difficult.
