Hi, all Montana owners

My wife Cathy and I are the newest owners of a 2001 Montana, model 2955. It was about time we retired our 14 old Travelite. We had been out "just looking" when we found it. The Montana had just been traded in for a newer one. Cathy looked around and said this is the one. The unit was spotless,I don't think the storage areas ever had anything in them. The dealer detailed it,checked everything out,we bought it home a week later.About the only thing I had to do was replace the tires. I'm very impressed with the workmanship. For about the past year we have been looking at new and used fifth wheels.
I drive a truck for a living and see many of RV's on the road. The Montana line is one I have noticed a lot.
We are looking forward to Labor Day weekend, that will be our first trip. Then a 9 day trip at the end of September.
Cathy and I glad to be part of such a great group.

Welcome to the group. We love our 2955RL we got at the end of June. We have had it out about 4 times and are also taking off next weekend to the Oregon coast.

Some of us in northern CA and southern Oregon are trying to get together for a little west coast meeting. Keep reading.

Boy were you lucky to find a used Monty especially in California. Welcome. We've looked and looked for a used one and finally gave in a bought a new one. We don't have ours yet - 6 days to go. Californians are the largest group in the club and we just added one more.

Hi Steve and Cathy:

Congratulations on the Montana purchase. I am sure you will love the 2955. We got ours in April but didn't get it out until May. I think we put somewhere around 5000 miles on it. The 2955 is a great size and easy to manuever. This is a great site and there is a ton of great information on the Montana campers here. Good luck and happy trails to you.

Hello DHenry, We know of a great place at Kernville,CA.The Rivernook Campground in on the Kern river. Some sites you can back up to the river. We've been going there for about 5 years. We say there for a few days then head over to Las Vegas. This is normally our last long trip of the season.
Thanks to all for the responces. I've learned a lot for reading through the site.

Welcome to the club, you'll have a grand time in you new Montana, and if it as clean as you say it is thats great, the previous owner got all the bugs out of it for you and Cathy, so it smooth trailering from here on out.
