Slide Motor Bad & Route 66 Warranty

Well, it's been a long cold winter in Wyoming. Went and opened up the Montana. When I tried to put the slides back in, using the inside switch, it would blow the fuse. I then went to the remote, the slides would go in a little then they would stop and I could hear a "clicking" sound. Took it into the dealer here in Casper, they told me that the motor was bad. I purchased the 4yr warranty through Route 66 so most of it is covered. The only issue I have with them is that the warranty does not cover shipping of the part. I guess I never even considered that it wouldn't be included in the warranty. Either way I'm getting it fixed for about $60 which is a pretty good deal considering.

Are you sure the battery was not weak????You need the battery to operate the slides.

I am with Rich on this one. If you were hearing the solenoid clicking that sounds like a weak battery.
I would sure be asking for the old motor to be kept and returned to you. It is easy for dealers to not diagnose things properly and to charge for repairs that are not necessary.

Warranty or not I would be asking some questions.

Yeah, I checked the batteries. I hooked it up to shore power, to my generators, and to my truck. Still did the same thing.

Then, the next thing it could be is the Trombeta solenoid switch for the pump motor. Are all electrical connections clean and snug? Most electrical issues can be caused by a loose or corroded chassis ground connections. Just sayin'.........
