Two New Technologies (for us) at stick house.

We live in a rural area where HS options for internet are very limited. For the last several years I have used a satellite system, that was better than dial up, but not really very fast. Recently line of sight ground antennas have been installed in our area, usually on a silo or grain elevator. This service is provided by the same provider as our sat, but is faster and cheaper, and I was able to trade in the sat. system for the new LOS rooftop antenna.

Not much good for traveling, but it is a big improvement for the stick house.

The second new toy is an Ipod Touch. This an amazing device. Far more that just a music source. If you have a wireless network that it can connect to, you hardly need a computer anymore, Check it out, you might like it! Ipod Touch

The only difference between men and boys is the difference they pay for their toys!

Oh, yeah, that is the next best thing to replace the keyboard and mouse...will it succeed? As we all know the keyboard is merely a remake of the typewriter...mouse an extension for what was missing. When will we find the ultimate "Human Interface Device"? Is this it?

My wife even bought a lawn mower for herself from Sears and she told the salesman that if it didn't start on the second pull as advertised, she was going to get a refund.

She used it one time, then it became mine.

I can't see the display very well on the iPod touch. I sure would not want to read this forum on one. Ah! To have young eyes again.
