Has anyone stayed at Cape Fair on Table Rock Lake

The wife wanted to go to Branson, Mo and I found Cape Fair Campground only 25 miles away for only 21.00 per night. It is run by the Army Corps of Engineers so with my National Senior Parks pass it was 1/2 off - five nights for $52.50. Can't beat it. The one picture and limited information looked real good but I would like to know more before I go.

Has anyone stayed there? Can anyone tell me what to expect? Is there anything other than a really cheap site? (We really don't need more.) Any info will be helpful.

Thanks

I stayed at Indian Point a few years ago. It was ok, 30 amp, no water or sewer. The COE has been updating some parks, you can go to their website and get more info

We like a COE campground called Mill Creek. About 2 miles south of the bridge @ Kimberling City.. It is all solid surface roads with 50a and water.Dump on the exit You want the loop the sties start @ #21

The next favorite is one called Old 86. A bit further from Downtown Branson but it also has been re-done.

We stayed at Mill Creek as well and were happy with it. The staff there was very helpful and pleasant.
Didn't much care for Branson though.PM me if you want additional insight.

Our campground of preference is Old 86 Highway campground, also a corp park. Campground was re-done about 5 years ago because of flooding. All sites have 50 amp. Really nice campground.

Sorry I am a little late giving my after event wrap-up. We got back a few weeks ago and as you can imagine, we had a GREAT time in Branson, MO. Cape Fair Camp Ground is about a half hour + from Branson, but it is a pretty drive and we got used to it. The people were nice and the campground was beautiful. It had large, level, manicured, asphalt sites with large trees and clean fire rings and nice picnic tables. They were well sculpted and well kept. Ours was a "pull through" site overlooking Table Rock Lake. It was a pull through site if you were good at parallel parking. (This newbie wasn't that good, with that 60' Class A taking half my site.) Also, the toilets were just barely a step above a pit toilet. No hot water and not very clean. There were no showers, but we love our shower in our Monte, so that's fine. Oh well, for $10.50 a night, I can't complain. Did I mention it was pretty with big trees and right on the lake? Also there was a very nice, large, swimming beach that was closed for the season. Give it a try if your over 65 and can get the discount.
