Air Conditioner

We purchased our first Montana it is a 3670RL. Everything was going fine until we turned on A/C, about twenty minutes later water was dripping on carpet. The coil was not froze up, and drain was not clogged. It does not drip if you turn fan on low. Anyone have this problem? thanks Jerry

My 2955RL is in the shop now. Has been there for 5 weeks. Last time I talked to the place, they were waiting for a part. Something about a 'snap in tray'. Hope it is fixed soon. My AC is the lo profile duo-therm 15000BTU. This subject has been discussed earlier but I have not heard anything about it lately. When I get it out of the shop I will know more and if the 'fix' works.

We have a new 3670, and haven't had problems with AC leaks, although there is a strange leak in the rear window sometimes when it rains.

Ishler, We had the same problem. Looking out the window we were getting water in the bottom window seal bottom right, it would fill to top with water. There is a seam between the large picture window and the lower corner window that needed sealed. Pull both seals out about two inches and seal with silicone push seals back in, worked for Us.

The low profile Penguin models don't work well on a sloped roof. A retrofit kit changes the drain pan. The original one drains to the front of the pan and it would overflow before it ever got to the drain. When my trailer went back to the factory they replaced my unit with a standard height one and I have not had any problems since.

Many have had good luck with the pan kit.

just got a call from my service company today. Our AC has the pan kit put in and ready to pick up. We will go get it Thursday and stay in it for a week. Weather in Salt Lake is supposed to be rainy. Hope it dries out so we can cycle the AC and see if we have joy!

AC on my Big Sky 3280RL also leaked inside, dealer ordered and installed a wind diverter over the water pan, which diverted the blower from blowing directly on the collected water still in the pan. So far have not had any additional problems, but have not had any real humid days since leaving Texas. Try to keep the landing gear end a little higher than level, and on real humid days will keep blower on high. Dealer told me that the blower was blowing water from the pan and into the 5er. Good luck with yours. Ron

Thanks for the tip on the leak. I pulled the seal and saw exactually how the water was getting in. Applied a little clear RTV and after a torential rain today, not a drop! Thanks again.

We just had ours in for the a/c leak in living area and they were going to put in the pan fix kit but by the time I got the Montana in they had changed their mind and said that they would just as soon change out the whole a/c unit with the old style. It seems that the pan fix kit does not always work and people have been bringing them back in again so now they just change out the whole unit. The only problem with this fix is that the trailer a/c is higher. Does anyone know how much higher it makes the rig?
