Neighbor's Wi-Fi Antenna

Here are pictures of his setup.
Looks like he just put the router in a plastic box.
What do you think? And how do you think it works out there?

Judging from the two antenna sticking out the bottom, it looks like a wireless access point inside a box. How it would work is a good question. I have one in my home and it works great inside the house - but to get a good signal outside in my rig I needed a better antenna for my notebook.
I would also be on the lookout for a good wireless campground antenna, but I hesitate in putting up an external model.
One question that would come to mind is the distance you would be able to pull a signal from. Some of the directional antenna have gains upwards of 15 db....I think even 21-23 db or so if you went with a dish.
I was doing a little reading about this and came across a site that offers a few different styles...

...as well as a nice little tutorial to help you decide what style is better suited for one's needs.

Happy hunting...
