new tires for truck
Just bought two new front tires for our tow truck.. We got Michelin and they are made either in USA or Canada. Anyway the tires we bought are made in USA.
Our truck takes 19.5 so most tire sellers have to order them. Then the job of finding someone to mount that big of tire, since the place we got them didn't do that.
One place wanted $169 dollars! Talk about mark up on their services! Found a place that did it for $50, balanced and everything.
These tires are little more expensive and cost around $800, after we searched and searched for best price. But at least they are made in USA and so far we have had good luck with that brand.
Just trying to say there are some good tires out there.

$800 for two tires? That seems rather steep to me. I've used Michelin tires on my tow vehicle for a number of years and have never paid more than right around $500 for two. I wonder what the difference is. Of course the size could be the difference. Mine are 16".

I'm assuming the size is 245/70R19.5.
Orv, these tires are considerably more expensive than the LT235/86R16 LTX MS-2 you are running on your truck. They are classified as a medium truck tire and are either 12, 14, or 16 ply depending on which Michelin it is.
Below is a list of prices for our area and includes FET and installation.
XRV 12 ply........$444.00 each.
XZE 14 ply........$438.00 each.
XZE 16 ply........$465.00 each.
XDS2 16 ply.......$467.00 each.
Dustytuu, it looks like you got a pretty fair deal.

Our tires are 19.5 inch. I think they are G but would have to check with husband to be sure. Searched for a few months till we found these. Most places want about $200 more than what we paid for these.
Michelin are usually made in USA or Canada.
Our truck is a 2 ton 5500 so tires are usually more expensive.
