Interesting: Class Action Query vs Keystone
Interesting
We apparently have an attorney of just someone trying to help watching this forum.
I received and E-Mail solicitation to join Class Action suit against Keystone.
So:
To Whom it May Concern!!
I don not believe in Class Action suits and will not participate in them.
When my losses exceed the cost of hiring an attorney by 10 times I will pursue my own lawsuit.

We once were involved in a Class action.the kind you get in the mail and it cost you nothing.Had nothing to do with Rv.s.After a couple of years they announced a multi million $$ settlement and we got a check for 7.00.

The attorneys are the only ones that win in a class action suit. It is obscene the amount of money they charge compared to the amount of money the clients get.

I beg to differ. Without class action, many rip offs would go unchecked. If my credit card company screws me out of $50, it is not feasible for me to pursue litigation by hiring an attorney. If they screw 10,000 people out of $50 each, it may be profitable for an attorney to file a class action suit to recover my money. Attorney fees have to be court approved.
I do not like the ads on TV soliciting every Tom, Dick, and Harry to sue over frivolous issues.

I agree with you Will but in a class action suite you are not guaranteed to get the money you may have lost back but a share of what is left over after court and attorney fees.
Class action suite do serve a purpose as you describe and we are not against them just encourage understanding.

Pretty much agree. Just received notice of a class action against Sprint. Unlike most class actions, you have to opt in on this one. I have no reason or desire to sue Sprint. Most of the ones I have been involved in, you actually are included unless you opt out.

I look at Class Action Lawsuits as an opportunity of some Law Firm exposing some previously prominent company to make a lot of money for themselves so that they can give some token minute amount to some customers. It never seems enough for me to provide all my personal information that can later get leaked to some junk mail or email company so I can get more junk.
I have gotten offers of these about Microsoft, Verizon, Classmates.com, and so many others their names slip my mind. When I read that a lump sum is being awarded to others, I ignore the thing and hope that the holdouts that stick with it get a bigger share. The wrong here is that the lawfirm SHOULD get the same equal share as each victim, NOT the biggest share. In the meantime, I just hope that I am smart enough to learn my lesson and can read enough to know when I got screwed. Shame on them for taking advantage of us, but shame on me for being a victim. This country is too sue happy which is why so many necessities are over priced like medical care, automotive services, appliances, all insurance needs.
No thanks. It's nice to know someone was caught with their hands in the till, but I still might have to use their services. If they were that bad, just fire or arrest those that did wrong and release them back into the world when the jails are too full. They'll need lawyers, too.

In most cases if not all the class action is a legal action against a organization in regard to a wrong doing and in most cases that wrong doing is corrected. The individual seldom prospers in a class action and yes legal fees are high when bringing action against a large organization and the individual could not afford to do that.Class actions do serve a purpose but it does not seem so to the individual.

I have participated in a few, select class action lawsuits in which I was wronged but only after I thoroughly read and understood the terms of the action. It's certainly an individual decision as to whether to participate or not.
I just received a invitation to join in a class action lawsuit against Dodge. I didn't respond as I wasn't affected by the issue in the complaint.

We joined in one, like Rich, years ago, that was no cost for us. After a few years we got a check for 30 cents. I think the stamp for the paperwork to join the suit cost more than that.

Very good explanation Rich. Law firms can encounter millions in expenses pursuing class cases. Like others have said, I have participated in some, some have gone to file 13 (trash). I have even gotten a couple checks I didn't know were coming...one from XM radio amounting to the cost of one years service.

We will never pay to join in a class action. That is never necessary if the action is legitimate. we always read the action carefully to make sure we are eligible and we will join in if we feel the action will solve a problem although we understand we will not benefit greatly from it. we are in the XM radio action. There is also another one on a credit card I think about over charging for fees.
