Here in West Yellowstone, MT. Diesel is $4.02. Passed some $4.35 down in Idaho. These are tourist places.

I must amend my earlier price, it's $4.15 in Coeur de Alene. Most I've paid on the trip. Looking forward to getting back to Mt and middle America. This place is sure beautiful tho.

We do alot of our shopping at Fry's because they have better quality food than Wally's plus they have diesel in their pumps. Today I pulled in to fill up and I knew I had a discount coming, but, WOW $.50 cents a gallon, YEP, that's no typo. I paid $3.35 a gal for the liquid gold. Could only pump a $100 worth but saved $15.00. Now that's a savings....Too bad they cap you at a C note as I have the 56 gal tank but could only run 30 gals in it until it shut off.

You can't run it through again, Phil? I do that sometimes when they have the auto stop. Most around here are at $75. I hate that. Even my car takes more than that with these prices.

Although $4 a gallon may seem expensive, there are many social and enviornmental costs that Americans don't pay for at the pump. While these costs are hidden the cost to society is high. Supply and demand is increasingly being overshadowed by speculation as the primary driver of cost (Exxon Mobil estimated 40% of current prices come from speculation.) The selling prices is controlled to a large extent by price-fixing. No snark intended.

Art, I can run it through again, but the discount is only good the first time. Bummer. I did put 30 gals in it and that just about filled it up. I usually don't go below 1/4 tank before filling, which means taking on around 40 gals. I remember when I was staying at Pio Pico, most of the stations there were $75.. Here they seem to be around $100, probably getting us conditioned for the higher prices......Another Bummer.

We finished a 5200 mile, 14 state trip on the 16th of June and diesel fuel averaged $4.00 for the trip. Trip included state from Maryland to Montana.

We're currently in Florence, OR. Filled up this morning at one of the local Arco's for $3.979 per gallon. This is the lowest we've paid for at least a year. The other stations in town are about $4.05 to $4.09. Hope it keeps coming down. Later, Dennis.

I just filled up near Zion in a town called La Verkin for $3.88 a gallon. It's been the cheapest since I left California two days ago.

Locally here in Maryville, Tn. gas has dropped .20 / gallon in the past three weeks, but diesel has just dropped a nickel. It's averang .46 more than regular gas.

Fred Meyer and Safeway seem to have the cheapest fuel in Florence. Every time we go and visit the in-laws we are amazed at the difference in the price of fuel compared to up in the valley where we are.
Are you staying at a park in Florence or at Honeyman State Park???

Fred Meyer is part of Kroegers so if you have a Kroegers discount card, it might work at the fuel station to get you additional discounts.

What happened. The bottom fell out of oil prices overnight.Down 4.62 at 90.79 at noon today and dropping. It has been long overdue. This maybe could be the bubble bursting...Gas prices have dropped around here to 3.39 but diesel still holding at 3.95...
