Big Sky Satellite Prep

I am just checking on the Big Sky Satellite Prep with those of you that already have your Big Skys orare in the know. I thought the Big Sky Satellite Prep that comes with the Big Sky Value Package made the unit ready to install a Satellite system on the roof. We had been looking at the King-Dome 24-0282 with dual LNB. We were told this morning that the Big Sky satellite prep means that it is wired to the utility hook up side for free standing satellite. Is this correct.

YUP! Went thru the Big Sky factory while at the service center this month on the way home from Texas, and the 'satellite prep' is the same as on the Montana. That is, one (1) input for a free standing dish OR cable, and the same 'ol jumper inside the E.T. center.

No big upgrade there. Also, I was shocked to see that they didn't even provide a switch inside the coach for the 120v side of the water heater! You STILL have to turn the stupid thing on outside at the heater!

Where's the xtra bucks for this rig???

Can you get both TVs to work off one receiver? What is the purpose of the RJ6 between the two outlets on the left side of the entertainment center right above the data port?

Cecilia - Welcome to the Forum!

The RG6 "jumper" is for using Cable TV at the campground. It lets the signal pass to the bedroom TV.

Because satellite requires a receiver, you connect a dish to the outside and remove the jumper wire to connect your receiver. You can use the remaining connection to send satellite to the bedroom TV.

We are leaving for Illinois the first week of June and should be in Ohio the 2nd week. We haven't heard whether our Big sky is at the dealer's yet. I was hoping it was delayed so we would get a 2008 instead of 2007. Ours was to have been built on a Friday and the next Monday they started the 2008's. The only difference in them was the option for a leather sofa.

I hope you have nice weather out that way in June because we are going on to Washington DC and then plan to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway.
