Anyone use A HAVA or Sling box for TV?

I'm curious if anyone is using this type technology hooked to their home systems for TV vs hooking up Sat or Cable in their RVs?

I have a SlingBox on my home system, but the last time we were out, our upload speed at home was not fast enough to "enjoy" the TV signal. Our internet speed has been bumped up to 5MB so I will be testing it next week from the West National Rally. I mostly use it for setting up programming, and clearing off programming from the DVR it is connected to, if the rest of the system is working properly.....(WinTV card and computer). We are also limited by our HughesNet download connection when we are on the road because of its "Fair use access" policy.

As far as quality of the SlingBox, it is excellent.

Not saying it is better than sat. TV. just different. For the modern RVer who has access to that Sat. TV, it is of little use, other than programing that DVR that is at home while you are away. It's best use is for anyone with an internet connection but no tv access, or only foreign tv access. If they have a computer and and internet connections, their tv signal from home can be "slinged" to anywhere in the world for their enjoyment on their computer or laptop. It is very interesting technology, and I use it to control my DVR at home, and reprogram it, erase shows not needed to be saved and add shows up coming that I want recorded.

Like the Sling I use the HAVA which also allows me to record movies in digital format onto my laptop which I place on an Arcos portable DVR and play on any TV when traveling. I asked if others were using these because I thought if you already paid for cable or sat at home you would only need an internet connection to view your home system and avoid paying for it as a second system when traveling.
