Spent the day pricing awnings and slide covers

My brain is even more scrambled than usual..
OK, I got the cheapest price on window shades, outside mount from Tweetys, but no choice of color, Like Henry Ford said: (not a direct quote) Any color you want as long as it is Black..
The slide awnings were much cheaper with Dometic, got their top of the line, The Carefree seemed better, but a couple hunnert higher, and no free shipping from a few other places. Got that low pricing from Makarov. I couldn't get it cheaper from my supplier, shipping killed me there.
Measure carefully, no returns on the special order stuff.

Well I guess times change ... 4 years ago, I ordered the 55" rear shade from Tweetys and was able to chose from black, blue, brown, or crème.

Yes, I noticed at Q that the colors were missing.

Dick, I did see the colors from other sellers and Carefree's site, but for much more money. I went for the ... modestly priced black covers

The price of the slide awnings is why I am still sweeping the leaves off my slides with a broom.

Bill, I weighed that with the probability I would fall off the dang thing some day, cheaper than my broken neck.. I paid for it with the money I got selling my T-shirts on ebay

Nunya, I went with the fully enclosed reel so they would last longer, I remember having to change the fabric on an old TT we had because the top wore where the sun baked it as it was rolled up.
It's good we can recover them, saves a chunk of money. Glad you found a good company to do the job.
Well, almost fully enclosed, there is a slot where the material comes out and goes back in....

We had a bad experience with Carefree...I would not buy anything from them ever again.

Try toughtopawnings.com if you're into doing it yourself. I did my large slide last year and it wasn't difficult at all. They have a great how to video. Which reminds me...I have two more to do.
Cheers

No, not this year, still working. Have retired 3 times, hope to get it right next time. 8 months 8 days if not sooner by a month or three.
Next winter I hope to run into you somewhere. I have to go to Tonopah, off the 10 a block or two for a month or so. I have 200 Geocaches I need to service, repair or replace. Might keep me out of trouble for a while, then we will probably travel Az and Nm
