wireless camera install

just got my 7in monitor and back up camera fot the monty for those who installed one beofre pics would be great . my first question is when you mount the camera and the transmitter. for 12 volt can i just tap into the top middle clearanc lights for 12 volt and mount the camera just below the clearance lights.

That is the way our dealer did ours. You have to tow with the running lights on which is not a bad thing anyway. Sorry,I do not have a picture, but mounting location below the center light above the window as you describe.

You can also tap off the 12V interior lights at the very rear of your fiver ... some have drilled right thru the back wall of the upper rear cabinets into the dead space behind the rear cap and run a power wire off the interior lights. You don't have to have your running lights on if going this route.

Mounted mine just below the center clearance light, and tapped into the wiring for that light. Simple install.
