AC on the fritz

Yesterday wife turned on the AC with the remote as we still run this fun little device. after it got turned on the remote would not control anything. would not operate the unit at all. the wall controls would not control it either. tried new batteries in the remote witn no success. The only way we could turn the unit off was to trip the AC breaker. it will not do anything since we did that. still have the bedroom air so we are not roasting. can anyone out there help with this. as we are FT in the monte, and an hour from any dealer, it is very hard to pack up and take it to them for more than a day. all ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Sounds like a conflict with the controls, my advice is to get rid of the remote at all costs.....

I think some who have changed out the remote to a wall stat have had to change the board on the unit, and install a wall thermostat. A DIY project, not complicated. And many have had to change them out.

Thanks for the input. got a hold of dometic and was told it was the remote system. i am going to be going with the wall mount system, since that is at this point the best way and at 75 more than the remote it should be money well spent. again, thanks for the input

You bet, it's too bad they put that junk on our units and you have to pay to change it out.
