Adding additional coach door deadbolt lock

Has anyone added an additional coach door deadbolt lock (similar to a regular home door deadbolt)? If so any recommendations on brand, installation, etc? Thanks

Mark-- Doesn't your entry door have a second lock on the locking mechanism on the door? Every one of the entry door locks I've seen have two locks on them. One for the regular lock and the top one is a deadbolt lock. That is why a lot of dealers tell you to lock the lower lock only because they have a master key to that lock but not to the top deadbolt lock.

Over on facebook every so often there is a picture of a dog that ate it's way thru a trailer door when his owners left him alone. Considering that a dog can dismantle the door extra locks aren't going to keep bad guys out if they want in. If I'm there the door locks will keep them out long enough for me to introduce them to good reasons not to break in. If I'm gone, there's nothing to really keep them out if they want in bad enough.

Correct, just gives you time to grab what ever device you choose to use. There is also the geek factor.
At home when someone rings the door bell Alexa barks like a dog, havent figured out how to do that in the RV yet.

I changed out all my locks, doors and storage compartments, a few years ago. I have 2 doors on my 3750FL. I installed the Keyless lock assy, (like the one in the video) on my main door and the keyed version on my aft door. They work great and they are well built. If you order more than one, RV locks will key them all the same. I got mine when they first came out so that was my only choice. Now they have a lot more choices and they made some improvements/upgrades to the later models.
I changed out all my storage compartment locks to the locks that have the round keys.

Here's the link to RV locks for the door locks:

Here's the link where I got my storage compartment locks:

DMax, I did the same love the keyless entry, I also changed out all the locks, even locked the propane compartment ( only locked when not in use, ie, propane off !, and stored ) the only lock I can't find a replacement is the level up system since the barrel is really shallow, and the 50 amp reel.

Stopped by the local Montana dealer to see if they might have a 3rd key or a blank I could buy. The blank number on mine wasn't in his book yet so he gave me a ring of keys and told me to go see which one fit. I came across one that fits the regular door lock. . . and if I put it in the deadbolt and move it out just a tad it will unlock that one too.

Yeah, makes me feel really safe. It's not a master key, just an ordinary door lock key and it seems they cut my deadbolt nearly identical. I'll be changing locks soon!

I went ahead and changed my door lock to the RVLock keyless entry (I do carry the key & the fob). So at least the Keystone master key and stock keys will not fit my door lock. I guess if someone really wants in my rig they will get in. I once had a locksmith tell me that a lock only keeps an honest man honest. Probably so true.

Our rig is almost never locked and we have never had anything stolen.

Don't waste your time & money. If a thief wants in he will get in and damage your door while at it.
