Front Cap Mirror

We have a 2019 3120 RL (20th Anniversary Edition). We are seeing black marks and the reflective surface just rubs off the front cap mirror. Has anyone or is anyone experiencing this? (Picture attached). It is no even a year old...

Mine is the same. Already replaced once. I’m just going to take it off and leave it off. It’s a POS.

John, since your unit is less than a year old, I would take it back to the dealer and file a claim under warranty. I don't know where or who you purchased it from but if you call Keystone Customer Service first with your VIN # and explain the problem and ask that a file be started on the unit before taking it to your dealer, the dealer should have no problem going to Keystone and getting it repaired under warranty. Let us know how things turn out.

I did what you just recommended, it won’t help I have done it already. The product is crap no matter what. I’m still under warranty and have done this 2 times. Once at the dealer on the walk through, the other when CW had the unit for 6 months fixing it and yes this mirror was on the list.

Can you take it off and leave it off, or is the surface underneath, unsightly?

That’s what I plan on doing.

I am a little concerned about what's under.
I don't want to tear off the gross looking mirror to find an even worse looking surface below.

Someone in the Montana Facebook group got crafty and covered in with stick-on vinyl and lettering. I'm not sure how durable it would be, but it looked better than the fake mirror.

Mine was painted just like the rest of the cap. I peeled it off after heating it with a heat gun. Then spent an hour removing the adhesive with Goof Off. Just be careful not to leave the Goof Off on the paint too long.

It's to bad the manufacture can't come up with a mirror material to make the mirror out of so they last longer. Keystone needs to talk to them sines they buy them from some other manufacture! We have been lucky so far are's is two years old and still in great shape other than it's kind of worthless I never use anyways other then to check my bald spot.

I really like the lettering idea !!!

A brand new unit not even a year old. It’s just a shame to have a framed eye sore to constantly look at in the rear view mirror. Better yet, having it replaced may not resolve the issue.

Ours looked like crap at 6mo old.
Didn't bother for warranty, as another will be the same.
I polished a piece of aluminum to install, just have not taken the time to install.

Mirror

Yup, Mine too. Black streaks. I never found this mirror useful anyway. How about mounting a camera there?

Ours looked the same. Talked with another Montana owner who said the manufacturer actually installed the mirror with the wrong side facing out. He said other owners had told him the same thing. It might be something to check on. I haven't checked it out yet, but will.
