Toilet ball disappeared!
Was having trouble with keeping water in toilet as ball, flap whatever it is called wouldn't always stay closed to keep water from draining. Hubby pushed flusher petal down and used toilet brush inside hole. Removed brush....removed foot...NO CLOSER (ball, flap)!!!!
Poor man has put his hand in and cannot feel anything like it under the rim.
This is a porcelain toilet but we cannot see any printing on it as to brand.
ASSUMPTION is we have to remove the entire toilet and pray it is just stuck somewhere fixable.
ANY of you have advice before we do such a nasty job? Thanks all.

You probably have a Thetford toilet. Aqua Magic Style II. You will need a ball kit which includes parts 4,5,6. Your local RV parts place probably has one in stock. IF this is the toilet you have when you replace the ball, lube it up good with either Vasoline or Plumbers grease which is a silicone grease. Silicone grease available @ any decent hardware store, Lowes, HDepot, etc.
If he is handy, a 30 minute job the first time.

PPL has them under their part number 83-8167

Thetford # is 09868
This is a common problen with this toilet. Many replace the toilet with a Dometic 320. Your call.

This will probably not be the last problem with a tetford toilet. I'd replace it with a Dometic. Many here have and it's not any harder job than fixing the Tetford and probably easier.

Since you have to pull it, also recommend a domestic replacement.

The Dometic brand is actually much better than the Domestic.
