Trailer Saver on board air supply

I have a Trailer Saver 5th wheel hitch that has it's own air supply pump. I am thinking about tapping into it so I can use it to air up tires on truck and trailer. Has anyone done this and do you have any pictures so I can see how you did it?

I sure would appreciate any responses. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the compressor is strong enough? Does putting 100psi in a Trailer Saver bag require less of a pump that is trying to put 75 psi in a truck tire? I have a small onboard compressor for inflating the rear air bags in my truck and this compressor is about the size used for who doing air brush painting, so I don't think it's strong enough to inflate Truck or RV tires.

Here's my real world analogy. I use a hand pump to inflate my bicycle tires to 85 psi. For example, this does not take long to go from a deflated 30psi to the desired 85-90 psi in a bicycle tire. But I wouldn't even try this on my truck or trailer tire. I use a 6 gallon 135 psi pancake compressor to gain enough power to inflate the truck or trailer tires in a reasonable amount time and they only need 60 to 80 psi. This unit provides 2.5 CFM at 90psi. I'm not sure my air bag compressor can provide that and I wouldn't want to burn it up as it tries to do so.

It would start with knowing the rating and capacity of the air supply pump for your hitch and how many CFMs it can provide and for how long.

I'm with Art on this one. We have the Trailer Saver hitch and the air bags on it are pressurized with a small 12 volt compressor. Mine is not on board. That having been said, since there is not much pressure needed in the air bags, I doubt that the on-board compressor will be big enough to air up your tires. I could be wrong.

X3 on the compressor probably being way too small.

X4. To provide the volume needed, the compressor may need to run too long and burn out.
