insurance cost
Just received a quote from RV America For Part timers with full coverage for $416.00. Does any one have experience they could share, good or bad, about this company or the quote?

I originally purchased my policy thru RV America (a Broker) but I am actually insured with Progressive.
As for the rate, it will all depend on actual coverage, deductible, and where you are located. Replacement or market value for a loss.

That's the thing that really makes a difference. Do you want the total price of a new rig for a total loss or just what the rig is currently worth on the open market.

Is that amount for 6 months or 1 year?

I don't see that anyone answered your question. Did you decide to go with them?
I'm shopping for new insurance. GoodSam (GMAC) changed its policy this year. I used to have replacement coverage. Now they only cover up to the purchase price. I got it very cheap, so that won't come close to replacement. And the $800 annual premium didn't change.

Unfortunately that kind of question is about like asking how far is up. The cost depends on what you are covering, the limits of coverage as well as where you are "based" at. Then add in your credit history and driving record info. There are just too many variables to really nail down a figure. Our coverage is based on a $76k replacement with additional umbrella liability coverage and a HDT tow vehicle. My figure will be vastly different than a part timer policy.

I had the GMAC from Good Sam. I finally had to use them to replace an awning the got nailed by a low tree limb while making a turn. At first the female agent was
nice and stated she was up on awnings and knew all about them. I brought the unit to my dealer and right from the start they had problems with her. Then she started claiming I was trying to upgrade the awning for a better one. My dealer stated this was not true and I just wanted the awning replaced with the same type
that was damaged. Well she continued saying she wasn't going to pay for an upgrade. It got to the point I felt she was calling me a liar and a thief. We discovered she was using a Montana Part List that was three years old. We finally got the correct amount, the awning was repaired and I dumped GMAC. They never asked why we dumped them but they constantly send us quotes to rejoin. As a matter of fact while she was still arguing with my dealer about the price, I received a check via US Mail from GMAC for the full amount and she was still saying she wasn't going to send the check. I guess what I'm trying to say is - sometimes it's more important how you are treated by a
company and if you have to pay a little extra then it's worth it.

I went with Gmac through Good Sams. I had a minor damage that I cancelled the claim and fixed it myself. They raised my rates by 300 a year. Then Good Sam directed me to Allied. They Also was going to raise my rates by 300. I called and explained I had cancelled the claim, sent pictures of the repair I did. They said they would erase it from the record. Then I get another notice they want to raise me by 130. I am done with Good Sam and any insurance related to them.

There just isn't an easy way to do this. I shopped around for about a month before we went with BlueSky. Tried Good Sam and several agencies approved by Escapee's. For me it wasn't just price, but how I was treated and whether the folks I was talking to appeared to know what they were doing.
