New Stained Glass Window
We were in Mexico a few days ago and purchased this beautiful stained glass window.
Bill installed it with very little help from me and we just love it. The easiest way to view it is to click on our web site and open out post from Dec 30th. I took a lot of pictures but didn't post them all.

The window is beautiful. What type of business sold such a thing?

Judy, we saw them all over Mexico (street venders) in the last three places we have visited thse last two months. There is a big difference in quality though so you have to know what you are looking for. Ours is finished on both sides and has a great quality of beveled glass. They had a RV window frame to show us how it would look and all we had to do was stop at Home Depot and get some clear silicone to put it in. It is so nice to look through. Kinda like looking through the window with rose colored glasses.

Helen.. that window is gorgeous. Love the colors too. Hmmm something else to look for in Mexico. Have really enjoyed your travelog. We have been so stationary that we haven't started ours yet..

What a beautiful addition to your Monty. For those of us who have yet to travel to that part of the country, would you mind giving us an idea of cost? We are seriously considering the RGV for next winter.

Joyce, I see you've got a new Montana in your signature. Congratulations! I'll be looking for one of those windows while we're in the Valley starting next week so I can share info on whatever we find. Helen and Bill are further west in Mexico. But I imagine the market is similar.

Looks very nice. Sure wish I would have came across something like that while we were there. I'm green with envy now knowing I was there less than a month ago and never even seen something that beautiful. Now I have anther reason to go back down there next winter. Maybe I'll wait until later in the winter so I can meet up with some of you fellow MOC'rs

Joyce, we wound up stealing this one for $60.00 plus $2.98 for the silicone. We saw some for $35.00 and when we were in Puerto Penesco they started out at $50.00. We didn't try to bargain because we weren't sure they would fit at that time. By the time we got to Yuma, we new the measurements and they had the frame there to demonstrate.
All Bill did was unscrew the existing screws and had me hold the old window in place so sa not to break. He did the reverse after putting the clear non hardening silicone on. There is a special one for windows at Home Depot.

That's a great price, Helen. I hope they're selling them in the RGV but I bet they are. I think you can buy anything down there.

One word of caution on the installation of the new window. I made the mistake of using a power driver and while I thought I was being careful, I managed to overtorque one screw and break off one of the plastic screw holes.

Helen, thanks for the price info. Well worth the investment! Can't wait to start shopping for one. LOL After all it won't take up any extra storage area. Thanks for the congrats, Judy. We traded on our way south in October.
