Roof weight limit

Still a newbie in the RV world, and I have a question about the weight limit to the roof of our 2005 2950RK. Does anybody know the roof weight limit? Want to clean and condition the roof.

I don’t know that there is a weight limit. If there is maybe I’ll learn something as well. I weigh approximately 240 LBS and I get on it and move around when needed. I can feel some give to it in places but I’m not concerned about it breaking through. My concerns would be if there would be a bad area or weak board with that in mind I always try and be careful besides I don’t like heights.

X2, 260# and I use one of those multi position ladders. I do use the factory ladder, to hang my real ladder on.

well i'm not as light as all of you i go up there and hit the sacles at around 235lbs but when I'm doing the roof cleaning and condition my wife is up there doing it together and she will probably get mad at me for telling here weight but she is about 130lbs the only thing is that we try not to stand in the same spot togeather nether of us felt that we would go threw the roof i think the bigest thing for us was falling off the roof the cleaner can be very slippery when wet. one thing that i did that was dumb was i left the truck hook up to the 5ther when i was cleaning it not to good of an idea by the way i have dark blue truck and the white from the roof got all over the truck. so make sure your truck is no ware near your 5ther

The roof is built with arched steel trusses and will easily handle "plus" sized gentlemenn such as myself and yourself. Try and limit gymnastics and other such show-off movements on the roof and you should be OK!

The roof will handle normal cleaning and maintenance; agree about the ladder; also use my own ladder to get on the roof.

I've been washing coaches for a few years now and have not had an issue with any of the ladders I have encountered. As far as roof is concerned, when purchasing my first Montana I ask the salesman about that issue and the roof on the slides. He said before he went into sales he was the guy that cleaned the snow off the roof before it went into the showroom. At that point he stepped down on a slide out and said come on down. I did and there were no issues, but I don't know about other manufactures, so I don't get on customers non Keystone slides.

If a ladder is involved I will most likely fall off it. She will also not let me near knives.

The end cap on one of the runs of my ladder broke while I was on it. I went down but caught myself. It could have been bad!

Noneck,
Nice! Do you travel with it up like in the picture? If not how long does it take you to put up and take down? Bet that makes a great viewing platform. HamRad

Keystone needs to make a NASCAR model with a viewing platform that pops up and an interior ladder the drops down. On the ladder breaking issue, if you place your foot in the middle of the step the weight is shared by both ends and verticals at near-equal amounts.

I would never travel with it up there... (straps to keep it from blowing off if a storm come up). Takes us about 1/2 hour to set the platform then we piddle through putting on the railing.

The View...

Nice view! Thanks for sharing. Didn't think you'd travel with it up. Later, Dennis
