Water Heater Not Working

We arrived at Willow Tree Resort in Longs, SC. Setup everything up, turned on the water heater for electric. Saw Amps being draw on the EMS display, and went about the rest of my setup.

Turned on Hot Water, and waited and waited, no hot water. Turned on the switch for Gas, and still nothing, no fire.

Checked all the circuit breakers (and reset), press the reset buttons on the water heater, still nothing. To late to get someone to look at it.

Any Ideas ?

No water in heater, and limit cut-outs stopping heat???
Don't know, just grabbing at straws.

Bad thermostat maybe, not letting it come on.

If its drawing the amps, it's doing the work. For some reason you're not drawing the water thru the tank.

Hi Gang,

We have HOT WATER. Called Git-R-Done R.V. Repairs, near Willow Tree. Toby said, he was book solid until Tuesday, (we leave Monday), but told me turn off everything AC/DC and unplug the circuit board and plug it back in. Yea the fire lights, and electric works too. I am happy, but after 30 minute no hot water.

Well I get the dummy aware on this one. I picked up the Monty from storage, and took to the house where I did all the pre-flight stuff, water in the take, fill up the water heater, torque the wheels, make sure 80psi in tires, etc.

When I filled the water heater, I open the relief value until water comes out while hooked up to water at the house. Water started coming out the relieve value, and I was by the water heater bypass value, so I turn in on to stop the water. Went to close the relieve vale, and FORGOT to put the water heater by-pass value back to the OFF position.

So the water was hot from when we hook up to power, but water heater was in by-pass, so no hot water... Like I said, I get the dummy aware on this on.

Been there, done that, only without water in the tank, cost me a heating element, but the lesson was learned. Experience usually comes from simple mistakes, thanks for the follow-up so we all can learn from it!!

LOL. Glad you got it figured out w/o a service call! Bet that doesn't happen again, to you. But, when it does to someone else, and it will, you'll be able to help them!
