Bad batteries

Our 3000RK was 1yr old this past March and already I have one battery that will not take a charge. I have always used the cut-off switch when in storage. We have taken 1 3 month vacation and spent 3 months in Mesa so it hasn't set idle too much. Do you think the dealer should replace at least the one battery that wont hold a charge? After 17 months the batteries should not be bad no matter how cheap a battery they put in them.

At the least they should honor the pro-rate warranty that is on most batteries. That is, unless it is a twelve month battery.

When you buy batteries there's always some kind of longer term warranty of some kind and the term is more than one year. For example, I just bought a couple of batteries for my Ford truck and they have an 8 year warranty - 3 full years, then the next five prorated at some rate.

I imagine that the battery supplier for the rigs provide the same thing or whomever provides the battery warranty.

There are cheap batteries out there, and there are batteries even with a warranty that will die an early death. I do try and find the best rated batteries I can find and my rig had a couple of Interstates, and one went bad, but it's been 5 years. The other one seems to be going strong so far.

Let us know what you can drum up, but I sure hope that battery is not a permanent short-term loss.

remember even if the battery is under warranty, it is usally a prorated one. So when you go expect them to say that the list price is thru the roof and when they pro rate it your price will be as much as you can buy a new one for.
