EAST SHORE RV PARK

We are headed to Upland CA from Mesa AZ April 1st.
We've temporaly booked a spot at East Shore RV Park in San Dimas CA. Anyone have any knowledge of this RV park ??

Also, we'll be traveling on RT 10 to get there. This is my first trip pulling a 5'ver into California. Any & all tips about driving on this route or in this state is welcome.

Thanks, Larry P

Yes, indeed. We stayed there a few years ago on a visit to the LA area and friends in Glendale. I think it depends on the specific loop and site. We were in Loop A and had one of the best sites we have EVER had in an RV park. If we ever go back to southern California, this would be my first choice of an RV park.

I found some very unfavorable online reviews, but our experience was entirely positive, not at all like some of those reviews. We had no problems at all and enjoyed the stay there.

Good park. Loop A. Watch out for skunks.

We have stayed at East Shore about ten times. We like the spots in loop A overlooking the lake, loop B also has some lake view spots. The park feels like it's out in the country, but it's only about a mile from the freeway.

Great park! A or B are great overlooking the lake, but as Captain Joe said watch out for Skunks especally if the dog sees that black and white cat.

I guess I mostly agree with everyone. We've stayed there several times. Holidays are crowded and crazy, but I think you're getting there without the crowds. I prefer Loop A, but didn't think Loop B was better except we were near an end and the skunks were everywhere and so was their stink from visitors who didn't know to leave skunks alone.

Make sure you are going East to San Dimas in the late hours of the day to miss the traffic - your itinerary looks good for this coming from AZ. If you need some maps of the campground from I-10, I can send you a map snippet from I-10 all the way into the park. While the campground entrance is only about a mile from the I-10 exit, there's lots of turns to get there and you don't want to miss one.

Another thing! Taking interstates into California and you'll be required to stop at a checkpoint and have the Cal-Ag people monitor what you bring into the state. Do declare any and all fruit you have with you. I forget the list but they don't just confiscate everything anymore. They are pretty specific what they are looking for. If you need it, I can scan/email what they are looking for to make sure you don't get yourselves in trouble.

Last thing. Top off the fuel tanks in AZ at the last stop possible. Avoid paying California fuel prices if you can.

All the times we have been at East Shore the only time I ever saw a Skunk was down at the tent camping area. All the Skunk talk surprises me.
