Propane regulator

We seem to be having a problem with the propane tanks switching over automatically. With both tanks turned on and the indicator pointing to the right tank, the left tanks is being used. I'm assuming that the green on the right side of the regulator indicates the curb side ande the green on the left side indicates the street side.

Is it messed up or am I???

Dick,
You should be using out of the tank that the regulator lever is pointing toward. It's the handle of the lever that is the pointer, not the short end. At one time in my early years of RVing, I thought the lever pointed from the short end of the lever, but found out I was mistaken.

Thanks Orv. It looks like our regulator is different. It has green and red. When it's green it's suppose to be OK and when red, it is out. We never used the automatic feature before because I always wanted to know when one tank ran out so I could manually switch it. Of course it doesn't help when you run out in the middle of the night and get no heat. That's what happened to my nephew when he spent a few days in our "Motel Montana" and that's how we discovered the "problem".
