That is one nice historical area. Enjoy yourselves but watch the casinos though. They can be a spoiler.

Steve, Magnolia RV Park is our stop of choice, partly due to its location, when we're driving to Fort Worth. It has free WiFi, two connections actually. The sites are all pull throughs, easy access. It's a small park with attentive owners. When we stayed there last week, we thought the office was closed and obeyed the sign that said "pick a site and then sign in". Well, turns out the lights in the office were just turned down low so they could watch TV. I think we acquired a bad reputation quickly in the opinion of the owner.
Anyway, it is a nice park. The owners live there on the grounds. Facilities are nice but modest. Price for one night was around $24.00, tax included.
Walmart and McDonald's are just down the street.
Bob and Pam, we'll probably be coming through there next Tuesday night. Maybe you'll still be there.

OK, I just can't resist! When I see the title "Vicksburg" I remember my great grandfather, Captain Michael Jackson Ragsdale of the 43rd. Georgia Infantry, one of the defenders of the city [which was surrendered on July 4, 1863].
Here is a photo of the marker where they were stationed. It is outside the National Park, out on Confederate Avenue:
We enjoy staying out at Askew's Landing RV Park at Edwards, MS; about 20 miles east of Vicksburg off I-20. Not everyone would like the rural setting, but it is just right for our taste.
I won't post an image, but you can click if you wish (BTW that is our Jayco, not our Montana)

Judy, we will be here on Tuesday. We're in site 20. We're scheduled to leave Wednesday, but can stay an extra day.
Steve, everything Judy wrote about the park is on point. The only addition I have is that the sites are very close together, but we're here to see the sights, so we don't care. Normally we like something more like Padrew suggested, but if we're sightseeing, this kind of campground is just fine. I am liking the free WiFi. We had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner here today. The park provided lots of turkey and ham and campers brought side dishes. There were over 50 people in attendance so you know we had plenty to eat.

Bob and Pam, if we are able to stop there for an overnite it will be a short stay so don't change your plans for us. We'll only be about half way home on a long trip, 730 miles. Hope it works out as we'd love to meet you.
