Soft floor
Has anyone had a problem with a soft spot on the floor? My 2011 3400RL has developed a soft spot near the entry door. Are there any recalls on this issue from Keystone?
No water leaks have been observed.
Thanks in advance
Jack

Soft spots often are caused by rotting flooring because of moisture. Not aware of any recall

You should check with Keystone Customer service. At one time a Keystone rep told us at a rally that the floor was warrantied for the life of the rig.

On our 07 3400RL we had a soft spot in the floor. At one of the fall rally keystone took it into the factory and fixed it. What happen was the bolts holding the floor to the supports came loose. They dropped the belly and tighten the bolts and no more soft spot.

We have a soft floor in ours also. It creaks in the most of the area of the kitchen to the door.
Edit: Dennis, are those bolts pretty accessible if I drop the membrane? If so, I may try that.

Dave, I don't really know. They told me that the bolt has a large washer type head on it and bolts to the cross members between the frame.

Does the plywood go under the walls, as it does in SB construction or does the wall framing go to the floor joist ant the plywood butts the wall framing? I have a soft spot next to the wall and not sure what I'm going to get into.

Any update on this thread? I have developed a soft spongy floor in this area. Into dealer for some other repair and asked about this and was told no rot, just delaminating or some such thing.
Can I fix it myself?

The floor is one giant piece of OSB. The walls are sitting on top of it.

Drop the under belly & see if you can get to the spot have someone step on it y you look
at the spot to see if it is delaminating or if the bolts have come loose.

If you have a soft spot, your defiantly have water getting in somehow. Check the caulking real good around the drip cap above the door. Also get up om the roof and look at the rubber roof where it rolls over the edge to the gutter molding. Could be an issue there also.
