WALKING ON SLIDE ROOFS
Who walks on the slide roof to do the cleaning. Used to not do it, but with this 3721 it is going to be difficult to clean the roof without getting on the slide roof. I am talking 190 lbs.

I may sit on the roof with my feet on the slide top and use a broom to sweep the slide. But I don't walk on them, even at 180 lbs.

I see folks do it, but I have not. With slide toppers, not an option for us

Hi
We use a 10 ft step ladder and put the slide ˝ ways out and scrub the roof. Then extend it all the way and rinse the part we scrubbed. Then scrub the rest of the roof from the trailer roof and rinse.
This seems to work well for us.

This has been discussed numerous times in the past. There are those who don't and those who do. Montana has demonstrated doing it at rallies. I am 220 and do it. It eventually is up to you. Here are some of the previous discussions over the years about this topic.

At a little over 250# most ladders aren't made to be safe for me so I haven't tried the slides. I use a multiposition ladder we carry configured as a step ladder when I want to do something up there.

I have done it occasionally. I'm ~210lbs, give or take. Done it more on the small slides, and a few times on the long slide, but try to avoid the middle portion closest to the RV roof as its only real support there is that very long fascia board over the couch/dining table. If I need to walk on that section, I stay close to the outer edge of the slide, .....and take extra care not to fall off.

I'm 170 pounds and have worked off of mine to replace the gasket on the top of the slide.

170# and have walked on all 3 of my Montana's slide roofs cleaning and what have you. Like mentioned ... on the big slides I keep from intentionally standing in the center towards the hard side of the fiver.

I walked on mine all the time before I had toppers installed. I believe I read on this forum it was demonstrated by Keystone at the factory rally and the rep actually jumped down onto the slideout with no issues.

I rarely put all of my weight (220) on the slide, as I normally have one leg and partial weight on the roof. However, I laid on the large door side slide while doing a minimal roof repair without any indication of a problem.
