We would like some suggestions on where to stay. We will be there in the middle of Feb. for maybe 5 days. We have never been to this area so any suggestions would really help. Thanks in advance. Stacy

Travler's World RV Resort is the only one we have stayed at. But it is a very nice place and probably the most convenient to downtown, the riverwalk, the Alamo, etc. The area surrounding the park is not the greatest, but never felt there was any problem there either.
There is a bus stop right outside the park if you prefer. But the drive downtown is easy and parking was not a problem. The street in front of the park runs straight downtown. There are several parking lots on that street and within a block or so of the main riverwalk area.
Also on/near the Mission Trail. You can visit some of the old Spanish missions from the 1700/1800's.
And of course, there is a Walmart a short distance away.

We stayed at Braunig Lake, convenient to the Rivert Walk. The spaces were way to close together and we would find another place next time.

We have stayed at Braunig Lake several times and the sites close to the club house are very close together however the ones across the lake are twice the size and it is a PA park. I plan on stopping there again next week on the way to RGV.

Wife and I were both born and lived most of our lives in San Antonio area. I would recommend Alamo Fiesta RV Park in Boerne. Probably safest in area and about 30 minute drive to downtown SA all interstate. Nothing fancy, fairly nice and secure. Great shopping(15 minutes to Bass Pro Shop and RIM/LA Cantera malls) between Boerne and SA, also good eating places. We have lived in Boerne for over 40 years.

We are presently at Braunig Lake RV Resort. The standard sites are very close together. The staff tries to alternate sites, but when it starts getting full they have to put the together.

The premium sites are wide with a separate parking pad for vehicles. Since this is a Passport America discounted CG, the rates are $25 a night for the expensive premium. Braunig Lake RV is about 6-8 miles or so from down town San Antonio.

There is a lot of activity in the club house. Dinner and breakfast on weekends, and a friendly staff.

We just got back from there..stayed at Travelers World...its like Bill and Pat said..nice, clean felt safe, etc....very clean park..nice employees, helpful with info needed, etc...only drove around town one day...took trolley or buses to town, riverwalk, alamo, etc...its on the south side of town...easy to get to...we would stay there again

KOA near the city. Bus stop to the riverwalk etc, stops right at gate to the campground so you don't have to park that big tow vehicle downtown.
