Fireplace Glass
Does anyone know if the glass on the front of the fireplace is a safety glass of any kind or is it just a piece of window glass.. We have our grandson in our Monty right now and he is very intrigued with the fireplace. We are trying to keep him away from it but you know how 8 month old babies are. We just don't want it breaking with him pounding on it with his hand. Is it tempered or a safety glass or what? Any help would be appreciated.

I thought there was an etching for "tempered" glass if it was safety?

I've had the glass out, and it is not heavy enough to be tempered glass. I would assume it is not.
I just entertained our 6 week old grandson with the fireplace last Saturday! Won't be long and I'll be thinking about the same stuff.

Ours broke last year - into a million pieces. It sure seemed like safety glass to me. All the pieces were small squares.

The good news is that since it was in the two year warranty period for Dimplex, they sent me a new glass front at no charge. It was sent in a wooden box with so many screws that Home Depot would have charged more than $500.
