And it will be the Best Darn Truck ever, but if it starts having problems then it will suddenly become the worst truck ever.

They all ware out!!

We have 206,000 miles on the Silverado and have had to replace one water pump (under warranty), glow plugs and now the front wheel bearings.

We are averaging 60,000 miles per set of tires.

I donít think this is bad at all and now going for 300,000 miles.

I have worked on the GM, Cat, Cummings, Mercedes and Isuzu diesel sense the early 70ís.

When compared to weight verses sizes and HP out put the Isuzu has always out classed the others and did not start using the glow plug until they turbo charged them and then like the Cummings the heater for start doesnít operate until the temperature gets down where heat is needed. The difference is Cummings uses a heater grid in the intake instead of glow plugs.

I worked on all of them in equipment from excavators to automobiles I have even worked on the 2 stroke GM 4-53 diesel in pickup trucks back in the 90ís.

I find my best trade is at 3 1/2 years with around 140,000 miles. I just keep buying Powestrokes and have had zero problems. Besides, I like new trucks.

As someone said - Buy the one that Fits your bottom - when getting the 5er itch, went looking at used trucks. Went to a local broker the that had a yard of good shape trucks in San Antonio - got to sit in numerous years and makes. Chevy did not give me the comfort in the drivers seat, too small compare to Ford/Ram. That took Chevy off the list me. Glad you other folks are buying it so they will continue to build. I then bought a 5er to match the truck capacity 305RL/2500 Ram diesel - local Ford dealer want gold to buy his.

Love my powerstroke, would probably like the Chevrolet product nowadays except for where they put the Def refill, and ram quality has to be coming up lots with fiat putting 1 billion into a Michigan plant and moving the ram truck production there. Also heard that they are changing the drive train to fiat design. All these have come a long ways from their start in life.

Most of the Chevy trucks are made in Mexico too. Fords 6.7 is made in Mexico.
It’s a common myth Ford owns Cummings, just ain’t so.

I buy whatever i like at the time..Be it pontiac, challenger, 442, trans ams, chevy, ford, or dodge.. would not buy a 64 to 68 mustang but would buy a 69, 70 mach 1 with the 429.. probably not the earlier Gto, ID TAKE THE 70..Id buy a tri 5 chevy ONLY IN HARDTOP, NOT SEDAN....Now, the new Rams fit, finish, interior, body style, cummins, aisin, 4:10s, auto level, factory prep is what I like at this time..Ford makes a very nice Truck, but after the engine fiasco i stayed away. Gms are nice as well, just dont like the squared off wheel wells..its all preference at the time.. im sure Ford has the engine issue fixed..

The Chevy/GMC 1500 crew cab is built in Mexico. ALL of the Chevy/GMC 2500, 3500 are built in America, as well as all of the 1500 extended cabs.

The 4500/5500/6500 has vastly improved payload over a 3500... towing? meh. 30000 CGVWR is nothing to write home about. It has cool factor, fer sure.

The issue I have with the GM 4500/5500/6500 is that they're using a de-tuned Duramax, but then again, they are being marketed more for the Commercial Market as Chassis Cabs rather than the RV Towing market.
OBTW my new High Country 3500 Dually came out of Flint, Michigan.
