Ford Compatible TPM’s
We just got a 2017 F350 DRW, it has the capability to monitor trailer tire air pressure on the in dash display. Does anyone here know what brand of sensors for the trailer will work with the Ford system? Contacted Ford yesterday and they couldn’t tell me, suggested I contact the dealer ..... TST says their sensors aren’t compatible with the Ford system. I’m wondering if I need to buy Ford sensors and put them in the wheels of the Montana. I really don’t want another display unit in the cab, already have the Ford navigation, a Garmin 660, that’s plenty to watch while trying to drive.

My knowledge may be dated but in 2015 trucks the TPM sucked. It will tell you a tire had low pressure but it was an exercise left to the owner to figure out which one. Additionally it wasn't available on a dually.
With the 2017 changes, apparently duallies now have a TPM. Does the TPM display individual tire pressures too? That would be an improvement.
The Ford display system was a locked system and not accommodating to additions (more camera displays was one desired mod). There was some talk on the Ford forums about a "jail break" technique to unlock the computer and add new features. It didn't seem to be too popular (something about warranty).
I believe a separate TPMS for the Montana would be the best route to go.

Went to Fords web site, all they could suggest was a OEM sensor @85 $ each, they could not tell me if they would work on S637’s @ 110 psi, and they couldn’t guarantee that they would be able to transmit the distance from trail rear axle to the truck. Looks like a neat feature that’s totally useless!

Newbie here...We have a 2017 F250 and after visiting and calling 5 Dealers I just gave up. It seemed nobody was up to speed on the new system in our new Platinum series truck. After hearing all of the "China Bomb" horror stories I was in a rush to put some G614 RST Goodyears on our 2016 3000RE. I bought a Pancake Compressor for the Monty and a nice Fluke IR Meter to check Tire and Bearing temperatures all around. Nothing automatic to look at on the nice display while driving but we now enjoy a little more peace of mind.

Looks like their is a hole bunch of crap you need to do before the TPMS and the camera
will even work what a bunch of junk you pay that much for a new truck and it doesn't even work out of the box!

I agree ..... $500 for the Ford System, $239 for a TST system... not a hard choice I find it interesting that 3 different Ford representatives and 1Ford dealer knew nothing about the trailer kit that jeffba provided the like to. Good job Jeff !Thats why I like this group, lots of knowledge in this group!!

My 2008 2500 Chevrolet will tell the pressure reading of each tire by where it is located. Truck is now ten years old and just had to replace my sensors.

My 2017 F350 duely shows tire pressure for all 6 tires , really nice display, too bad it costs so much for compatible trailer sensors.

Yup he F150 seems to get everything before the F250/F350.

You need more than just sensors in the trailer tires to make the ford TPMS work there's a control module and a 12 pin connector for the trailer to make it work!

The 2017+ Ford TPMS trailer system has great potential in that it is already supported by Ford, it can be monitored in the dash display with the other tires and does not require a separate monitor. On the downside, it requires installation of a harness and signal booster and quite possibly the sensors do not have the power to transmit through the upgraded tires that are popular with us. The Ford website states that it will not work with the steel sidewalls.
