Sofa Air Bed
I understand the air beds are an issue with loosing air. I have a 2009 unit and it will hold air for 3 - 4 hours. I have removed the bed matteress filled it and put into my swimming pool trying to find a hole. Seems to leak around the on - off switch. My question has anyone converted the bed over to a normal pull out? Or do I need to purchase a new one? This is a pain for a faily new trailer.

Buy one of the blowup mattresses from Target. They work great. Just put it on your couch in place of the rv one.

From previous threads, folks have purchased better quality air mattresses that fit. Most of the issues seemed to be leaks caused by pinching when the sofa is folded up. I dont recall anyone who did a conversion other than total sofa replacement.

I did like many others. I went to Target and purchased a good quality air matress that had an AC plug in. Battery operated will also work. When we are done with the mattess instead of folding it up in the sofa we put it back into the original holding bag and store it until we need it again.

When we purchased our 09 Monty the owner said to remove the air mattress and place in bag and store under bed. He said after 2 mattresses he discovered the frame will pinch a hole in the mattress.

If you replace the matteress, does it still fold up OK? I purchased a piece of foam & switched it, but it does not fold up very well. I spoke to my dealer, and what he suggested was to purchase a new air bed for the $ 300.00 + dollars, & put a 1/2 piece of foam over the springs & them fasten the ait matteress over the foam. Sounds like it would work but still ticks me off that the manufacturers have and issue & unable or unwilling to fit the problems.

We bought a "Simply Sleeper" off the net. Better quality than any box store. It is the most comfortable well made air bed we have ever had. It was about $114.00 a few years ago, queen size. We no longer fold it up in the couch. We store it in it's own bag it came with in the pull out drawer under the couch. Has worked great.
