I have noticed my inverter kicking on then off constantly. When on lights are brighter then off they go low.Is this normal to go on and off every few minutes? Also i got my mountaineer back from shop it's go as new, after tire blow out.

I had this happen to me,what it was doing when the lights were low a meter on the inverter would read 13.8 output which is normal when lights would go bright the meter would jump up to a overload reading and shut down.Long story short I needed new inverter. The one that came with the Monty was a IOTA 2-stag battery charger, trickle and Maxi which I was told beats up the battery.I have a inverter with a 4 stage charging unit and everything been good almost a year now.

When you're plugged into shore power, the converter should be running all the time at pretty much a constant voltage. A big current draw might make the lights get dimmer because of a voltage drop, though, so make sure nothing else is cycling on and off.

Check the voltage on the batteries while this is happening to see what the converter is doing. If it is a 3 stage charger, then the voltage voltage should be between 13.6 and 14.8 volts (14.8 volts only if your batteries are discharged or in bad conditon).

FYI, they are converters, not inverters. Inverters change dc to ac.

I'll have to check my model to see which one I have. When I do I'll post it.

There should not be a noticeable light change when the inverter kicks on and off. There's something else going on. Maybe a loose ground around the batteries or the converter.
