I have found with my wife its easier to have her with a phone or two way radio back there to guide me. Seems to help when they all the time disappear back there lol!!!

I thought it must be somewhat of a problem. I guess it is just one of those "I'd rather not talk about it" type things.
I have probably read about it before and forgot. Sort of like the old saying about a goose that wakes up in a new world every day. My memory tends to purge overnight.

Hopefully always with a spotter. If you can't see me in the mirror I can't see you. If I sit long enough my wife will re-appear.

I can't always be watching the mirror and whatever problem we are trying to avoid at the same time. I know if I can't see the mirror, he can't see me because he keeps reminding me of that fact. We just try to be patient with each other. It's not a race.

I guess it is not a problem since I have never seen anyone post about it. But there is a huge amount of length behind some of the trailers. I have never had a problem, but am always aware of the possibility. So if I am pulling out of somewhere where there is something near one side or the other, I am careful about how soon and hard I turn.
Any one ever had experience with or heard of anyone else raking the rear end against something or someone while turning? I can see it possibly happening against a tree, power pedastal, fuel pump, other close vehicle, etc. during as sharp turn.
Oh, yes, I'm afraid I can attest to the potential. Our Montana has a dinged up rear corner to prove it. And a few years ago some good friends showed up at the Minden Spring MOC rally with the rear capped duct taped to keep it in place.

And we recently watched another Montana swing out of a filling station ahead of us and he came within an inch of catching the rear cap on a brick post. I don't think he even had a clue how close he came.
