How to Open One Slide
How do you have one individual slide open? Want to open the living room slide on a `09 3400 RL. Thanks!

On my 2006 3475 the slide out hydralic motor and reservoir of oil is located in the front storage area and the switch to activate the slide out hydralics are inside the Monty. The valves are labeled and you shut the valves (turn them off) that you do not want to operate when the slide control is actuated to push the slide out. Works the same way when retracting, only the valve that is open will actual cause the slide out to move in. Hope this helps--maybe some one with a 2009 can give more specific instructions.

On the 2010s and I know at least some of the 09s there is a small lockable door in front of the drivers side propane bay door. Inside there are valves you can turn on and off. If you turn off the slides you don't want to go out only the ones you leave on will come out.

If your 2009 has the 10th anniversary package you have the outside valves. Otherwise you will have to shut the valves in the front compartment. Lots easier if you have the package. Good luck.

Mine has the valves in the landing gear compartment and were mislabeled. It was easier to relabel them than switch the hydraulic lines around.

Sometimes when we plan on a long travel day, I will close the valve (in the front compartment) for the bedroom slide since it goes out first on our 3075RL. The living room slide goes second, so by closing the bedroom slide valve, the living room goes first. That makes it easier when we pull off at a rest stop or such to open the living room slide a little to access that area better.

Ours don’t have the individual slide controls on it. Has anyone up-graded their Monty so that the slides can be controlled individually? If so, I would like to hear more information about the changeover.

I made a query back in 2004 about doing just that and was quoted a cost of $2500. Don't know what it would be today.

Hey Bill - I just wore out a selonoid cartridge valve in my '02 hydraulic motor/pump system and after much research determined that there are no parts available so I just ordered a whole new motor/pump/reservoir assembly for $1200.
Lots of research went into figuring out our very old hydraulic slide system and I learned that the newer systems are waaaaay better. We don't even have any manual overide capability for closing slides if they get stuck open. I recommend thinking about upgrading the whole hydraulic system.
