Setting up portable satelite dish
Don't know it has been thought of but while trying to set up my portable satelite dish I could not hear the beep. Then it hit me! I went to Walmart and picked up a baby monitor for $23.00 plugged it in next to the TV and clipped the reviever to my belt. You can adjust the volume so it doesn't bother anyone else. It is now a one man job!

Why not use your external speakers. If you are hooked up right, you can run the outdoor speakers out of the Sat Box into the Stereo. Works great ask your neighbors 5 sites away.

I just use the wife's cell. Call mine and set it down by the TV then listen on mine.

Walkie Talkies should work also.

You guys did it easier than me. I moved the bedroom's Jensen into the basement and watched that tv while I adjusted the dish. It worked really well.

I use an in-line meter with tone to align mine. Don't have to see or hear the TV. Makes it pretty easy also.

Radio Shack sells a Satellite Finder you can connect in-line with the antenna and peak the signal. Only costs about $30. After you've set it up a few times you can almost set the antenna in the right place.

I really like the baby monitor idea and you could probably even find one at Goodwill or Salvation Army really cheap.

I wish I had thought of the baby monitor idea.
Instead, I went automatic.

In line sat signal meter and dish pointer information from the directtv website. After you have set it up about 100 times you just sdet the AZ/El point it and the signal is there.
