Question, I have a small fridge in my belly, 3791 rd. Can I plug it into my inverter while traveling? Cold beer is important to me.

Depends on the draw of your fridge, size of your battery bank and how much charge you are getting off your truck. As long as your truck is charging, your RV batteries are decent size and charged and you are talking a normal size fridge that has been pre-cooled you should be go to go.

It will work as long as you have enough batteries and inverter to handle it.

When we looked at floorplans, I was most liking the ones that allowed access while folded up and traveling. I got overruled. The idea of a small refer in the basement tickles my fancy. Joy just said use a Coleman cooler. I really like your idea and those little units pull very little current. Although the Samsung is very efficient also - but just cannot get to it!! Changing to a more robust battery solution will have to wait due to $$$. The pair of 12 volters will have to do.

It seems like the beer would be colder in a cooler covered with ice while driving down the road. Very cold is important to me.

We had one of the Dometic Fridge/Freezers in our basement. Would run on 12/24 VDC or 120 VAC. So installed a lighter socket in the basement and ran on 12 VDC when traveling. We were using two 12V batteries and had no problem with the TV alternator keeping them charged when traveling.

If headed south now it will be coldest in the back of the truck. Just wipe off the snow & ice and have at it.

We have stopped for a break before and got some fresh water bottles and a sandwich that were in the refer. If you can't get to the refer you will need another solution. With the new fridge sizes they are using today space is not as much of an issue as it used to be. My wife had 3 requirements for the rig when the slides are in. She wanted to get to the refer, the bathroom and bedroom.

We have 2 of those 3 requirements. Bed and bath must be available with slides in but the refer not so much. We always have a cooler in the back with drinks and snacks. Also, when we stop for fuel we will hit the restaurant and at times for take-out.

I can get to the BR, bath and frig (sort of). I am still spry enough to sit on the pennisula with the sink and swing my legs over to the other side. Frig door opens completely so can access everything.
