Closet

Would like to see the closet rods mounted differently so a full size coat hanger could fit inside the door.

John,

First welcome to the forum.

I checked your other messages and it seems you have a 2001 model. Is that correct??

Since your model was built, they have indeed enlarged the closet some, I don't have any trouble with clothes hangers in mine, which is a 2004.

Happy Trails.

Hey thanks, I was looking at a new 2950 last weekend and really liked it. Where do you go to get an idea of the real price on one of these. Some friends that purchased a Montana called a number of dealers and the factory to get some idea but wondered if there were a different way.

John, do a search (see top right hand corner)

pricing has been discussed a LOT! and I am sure others will come along and offer up even more suggestions.

I agree with Carol, they must have made the closet deeper. Since we were living in ours while I worked out of town, we had a lot of clothes in there and had no trouble.
Happy trails..............

Just looking at them in your picture I can see they are a better set up. Guess I'll have to check them out at a GMC/Chev dealer. Hopefully they'll be interchangable with the 05's.

Sometimes you can move the closet rod further to the back of the closet and gain an inch or two. The tapered shape of the back wall of the closet means that there is more room at the level of the hanger, than there is at the place they mount the rod.

After reading all the post this morning I finally figured out what you are talking about - it is the mirrors. They are a big improvement over previous years. The web site mentioned in one of the posts shows them up close. They also have the turn signal red arrow in them.
Happy trails....................

We moved the rod (2003 model with the shallower closet like yours) back 3/4 inch and could have gone a bit more. It was easy to move. I didn't even have to drill new holes. An electric screwdriver was enough. We could/should have gone a bit more. 3/4 inch is not quite enough.

The deeper closet is one of those things in the What Would We Say to Keystone section that they listened to and changed on the late 2003 and later models. That and a number of other improvements.

I find that some wire clothes hangers are smaller than others, so I have gone thru the closet at home and found some of the smaller hangers and find they work fine in the closet.

I forgot to mention we also use those hangers with the swivel in the neck. Someday I'll move the rod back about another 3/4 inch and we won't need the swivels.
