The Space Shuttle - Up Close

Y'all have seen the news of the 2 million dollar transport of the Space Shuttle, well here are some up-close pictures of your money at work. It is a beautiful sight to see. Darned be us, we missed it this year, but have seen it several times in the past. Some friends of Earlene's took these. ENJOY!

Here is a LINK to the NASA ferry landing in Florida.

I have always wanted to see the take off and landing of the shuttle, some day I'll make the trip to the cape and see it first hand.

You need to plan two trips Mark, a day time launch and a Night Launch.

I was very lucky several years ago to see the shuttle land at Edwards and then see the ferry take off. Awesome site and I would rather my money be working here than on the sex life of the beetle.
Happy trails........................

Unless something changes we saw what may very well be the last night launch as well as the last shuttle launch which was STS-126 last month. There are shuttle launches on the program schedule but none of them are thus far funded. There is one scheduled for May but is unfunded..perhaps thing's will change???

We got to see it going back to Florida this past week. We were driving back from inspecting an insurance loss when Bob saw it. He said he couldn't figure out what kind of strange plane was near us. It was awesome to see.
