Sad, disappointed, dejected
My Vonage package was delivered. With excitement, the package was openned. Each morsel of instruction was devoured prior to installation atempts (a rarity for macho, do-it- yourselfer with an "I can figure it out" mentality). But it doesn't work!!! Two hours on the phone with a gracious and patient service tecnician and IT DOESN'T WORK! Whine, whine!
With "hat in hand" humility the guy is going to over night a new adapter, but my suspician is that it is faulty a ethernet connect or flawed circuitry in the motherboard. My plug-n-play turned into plug-n-pout.

Stiles
I feel your pain and disappointment. Glad to see the company is helping you--so many just say good bye once they have your money. Hang in there and good luck.

Stiles, as Roman says...never read instructions. I think there's a rule about that in the Mens Guild!

Stiles - they may come to take your "guy" card away. You have to spend a minimum of ten hours before you even glance at the instructions. Hope they get your "plug and pout" fixed. Good luck.

Stiles,
I just got my Vonage package today. I had to head out to work so I had no choice but to simply take the instructions with me to read during lulls at work... so don't feel bad about reading the instructions first.
I just hope the "guy" police don't try to take my "guy" card away
Fred

Fred -
Let me know how you like your Vonage. I know one of the guys at work that has it. The way we sometimes lose internet with Comcast, I'm notsure that I want to trust my phone to the internet yet. But, some day.

Ron,
Will do. I just got it installed yesterday, haven't had much time to test it, but everything seems to work fine and Voice quality is good.
One thing to consider is that you can configure Vonage to route calls to a different number, if your connection goes down or it can't reach the VOIP device in your house. So, I have it set to ring to my cell phone.
