There has been a lot of discussion on just this, are you running the fan speed on low or high? Some of the members have had success running the fan speed on high as this I believe tends to reduce the freezing up issue. Might try checking the search button on the top of the page and see some of the past posts regarding this. Good luck and welcome to the club.

This one has been around before and we learned what to do from reading the other owners' solutions. We have a 3670RL Big Sky and from day one have had problems with AC. Service techs couldn't seem to get it to ice up when they had it and couldn't solve the problem. We did what the MOC people said and kept it on HI. Never had a problem since. We control the "cold" by the temperature setting. Go figure!

There is a sensor located at the coil that needs to be adjusted. I just had mine in for that very reason and the tech. got it to freeze up quickly and adjusted the sensor by relocating it to a higher position. He claims the problem is solved. We will see.

I'm sorry to read this. Sort of hoped we were the only ones with trouble with our A/C. We have a 3670RL and love it except for the A/C. It freezes up all the time. We have been running on high and it makes no difference. The last post about relocating the sensor is one I'll take with to the service department. Good luck. Jim

I was having the very same problem with my a/c on my 3400RL. I have changed a few things and the problem has not happened since. I dont know which one of the changes was the cure but thought I would pass them along. I always run mine on high as stated above, I try to keep the temp set approx. 20 degrees cooler than outside temp. I used to run on fan, now I use the auto setting. The big one I think that did it was I was also using the ceiling fan to help move the air around. The problem is the fan blades are directly under the warm air return on the a/c, in my opinion it was sending cold air back into the a/c instead of warm air causing the coils to "freeze" up. I ran this by my service tech, and he said never thought of it, but that sure would freeze the a/c. So now no fan when a/c is on. Going to install second a/c this spring when the coach comes out of storage. When the temps reach 100+ I think the one a/c is working to hard to keep that much coach cool.

We've fought this one [just like everyone else] and came to the conclusion that the relative humidity level is the primary culprit: fan or no fan, 1 AC, 2 AC made no difference. (What freezes is moisture in the air - the more moisture the faster the freeze-up.]

We tested this by starting out with the thermostat at it's highest temperature and then lowering it, if necessary, until the AC just turned on. We then waited until it turned off and, after 5 minutes, dropped the temp ~5 degrees. Repeated the process until the temp was where we wanted it.

No freeze-up.

We also picked up a small dehumidifier that has made a world of difference: since we began using it we haven't had any freeze-up problems at all. We have also kept it running while the rig's at the storage lot between trips to deal with the 98+% humidity around here.
