Tires cupping
The tires on our 3400 started cupping in after 5000 miles. We had the tire rotated and balance at 8000 miles, but they are starting to cup again at 9000. The back tires cup more than the front. Does this mean that we have the hitch too high? Has anyone else had this problem?

Go Pokes,
That is a lot of miles for a 2005, wow, you must be having a GRAND time!! And seeing a lot of great territory!!
Could you define "cupping" for us, is that on the inside of the tires, outside, ??

Rear tires tend to get dragged around corners and that's a major cause for the cupping.

Thanks for the information. Yes we have had a great time seeing alot of the country from Oklahoma to Texas and Oklahoma to Fairbanks, Alaska. By cupping, we mean the inside of the trailer tire are wearing much faster than the outside. In addition the back tires are the ones showing the inside wear. Since we are new at this, we did not know how many miles to expect from the tires. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Go Pokes,
You might want to check out this thread on the forum
http://www.forumco.com/montanaadmini...erms=tire,wear
And do a search with our search engine above for tire wear, there are a number of posts and threads, maybe something there will help??
Our tires wore very badly on the inside and with 6000 miles we are going to have to replace them. We had our axles cold bent, they told us they were "out".
Read your warranties very carefully!! There seems to be a number of us with the same situation.

warranty solution is to replace the axles which takes time and the new axles could be off too, just find a good truck alignment shop and have it aligned.
