Type of brake pads

At only 50K miles my brake pads need replacing. Does anyone have any reccomendations of type of pad material that will last longer? Thinking about maybe ceramic.

Depends some on your driving habits. Sometimes stouter pads in turn eat into rotors more quickly, especially given heat and the amount of rig you're stopping. That was experience with my Ford van some yars ago. Fortunately my GMC is doing well at 72,000 miles and still on the original pads. Course those miles were not near all towing miles.
